Derek Quinney

Derek Quinney is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TNLEP Veteran Global Energy Solutions LLC, a veteran-owned business dedicated to delivering reliable, sustainable, and mission-focused energy and logistics solutions. With more than 13 years of experience spanning logistics, law enforcement, and supply chain management, Derek has cultivated a career defined by service, leadership, and innovation.

Derek proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he supported in deployments of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). His time in the Marines sharpened his discipline, adaptability, and ability to lead under pressure. Later, as a member of the Air National Guard, Derek contributed to domestic disaster relief efforts, including direct support during Hurricane Harvey in Texas. These experiences, both overseas and on U.S. soil, instilled in him a lifelong commitment to protecting communities and strengthening national resilience.

Before launching his company, Derek built a strong professional background in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as a Detention Officer with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, where he leveraged his leadership skills and crisis management expertise. Prior to that, Derek worked as a consultant with Trans National Electric Power LLC, where he gained deep insights into the energy sector and government contracting. That experience, combined with his military and law enforcement background, provided the foundation for establishing his own enterprise focused on serving federal, state, and private clients.

Under Derek’s leadership, TNLEP Veteran Global Energy Solutions LLC is actively engaged in pursuing federal contracting opportunities with the SBA, APEX Accelerators, and SAM.gov, and is currently applying for key certifications including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), 8(a) Business Development, and HUBZone programs. These certifications will further position the company as a trusted partner for government and defense projects.
